Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Bronx, NY 10451

Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary:  The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing expert care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This includes close monitoring, pain management, and ensuring a safe recovery for patients transitioning out of the operating room.

Primary Duties:

• Monitor and manage patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
• Provide care and interventions according to clinical priorities, including pain management and patient stabilization.
• Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy as required.
• Administer conscious sedation and monitor patient responses.
• Document care accurately in compliance with professional nursing standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet patient care needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and administering conscious sedation.

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
• Current and valid New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA certification.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA certification.
• Active New York State RN License.

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).

Schedule Details:

• Duration: 8-week assignment, no extension.
• Hours per Week: 34.5
• Shift: 11.5 hours per day, 3 shifts per week.
